Community Relations
Our mission to our host communities at Honeybrook Group is to improve the lives of the communities in which we operate.
Our focus has always been on implementing community projects that are impactful and sustainable as declared in our community relation policy. Our Community Relation policy is to:
- Behave ethically and strive to improve the quality of life of our workforce and host communities
- Respect host communities and their traditional rights, and value their cultural heritage
When embarking on new developments and operating facilities we apply a systematic approach to:
- Define the processes, methodologies and criteria necessary to match this policy
- Identify stakeholders both internal and external to the Company and define their characteristics
- Screen the social risks and issues over all phases of the operation via a Social Impact Assessment, and record the outcome
- Establish a plan to manage social risks and issues over the lifetime of the operation
- Minimize social and other impacts (e.g. demographic, host community, wealth distribution)
- Build and maintain relationships with host communities, key individuals and organisations
- Promote consultation, communication and ensure mutual expectations are realistic and achievable
- Comply with legal requirements for local and national content and strive to further maximize this
- Monitor social impact management and commitments and take any corrective action necessary
- Investigate and manage any grievances raised by host communities
- Carry out periodic audits and assessments of social risks and issues as part of continuous improvement.
